Ashton Woods

This project was done at Definition 6, and was one of my final projects for them. I provided the User Experience and Intiial Art Direction for Ashton Wood's site refresh, as well as working with Definition 6's social media department to create engaging content that can be posted on Social Media to inform users about new communities in the area.

Home Buying Journey Gets a Facelift

I provided the initial art direction for the redesign, which involved adjusting their usage of brand colors and white space, as well as adjusting the heirarchy and usage of their typefaces. The colors take on a more accented role to pure white, and the typefaces were adjusted a few point sizes lower, to help enhance the elegant feel to better match their homes' aesthetics.

A Refined, Polished User Experience

In addition to the initial Art Direction for the project, I also provided the User Experience for Ashton Wood's site refresh. The UX focused heavily on customizing the list of their available home plans, as well as finding home plans relative to a location, so potential buyers have a good idea of the community they are investing in.

The goal was to integrate the user's customized searches into the user experience as seamlessly as possible. Therefore, the ability to customize a Home search is built into the dropdown menu of the navigation. Users can search by Home plans, or by the Community they wish to live in.

Easy Home Find

Users can find their dream homes by sorting through a list of available communities, or available home plans. For their convenience, a map is on screen to show nearby areas and perks.

Home Galleries

Home plans contain galleries of several home plan images and 3D tours, so users can get a great look at their potential new home from their device.

Social Engagement for New Communities

In addition to working on the online refresh, I worked with Definition 6's social media department to create engaging content that can be posted on Social Media to inform users about new communities in the area. This content included videos, carousels on Instagram, and targetted banners on Pinterest.
